From the perspective of the car repair technician, let's take a look at those overlooked vehicle hazards

At the corners and alleys of the city, one can always see some electric bicycle repair shops. With their deft hands, the repairmen have fixed countless "broken" vehicles. Recently, I visited several electric bicycle repair shops. From the accounts of the repairmen, I learned about many vehicle hazards that car owners tend to overlook in their daily lives, and also heard a lot of real experiences about electric bicycle repair.

Among the car owners who come for repair every day, more than half have battery problems, many of which are caused by improper charging. Master Wang, who has been engaged in electric bicycle repair for over ten years, told the author that last week, a bike owner came for repair pushing an electric bike and said that the vehicle suddenly wouldn't start. After inspection, it was found that the battery had been overcharged for a long time, causing internal bulging and damage, and a new battery had to be replaced. Master Wang said helplessly, "Many car owners have the habit of 'charging before going to bed and unplugging after waking up'. Sometimes they charge the battery all night long and continue to float charge after it is fully charged. Over time, the battery's lifespan will be significantly shortened. In severe cases, it may even cause swelling, leakage, and even fires." Apart from overcharging, the mixed use of chargers is also a common cause of battery damage. A car owner lost the original charger and randomly bought a charger with mismatched parameters. After using it for less than a month, the battery developed a serious swelling problem.

Apart from battery issues, brake system failures are also common situations during maintenance. Master Li from the repair shop told me a thrilling case: A car owner found that the brakes were not sensitive when riding but didn't take it seriously and continued riding. As a result, he encountered an emergency at an intersection and couldn't brake in time, colliding with a motor vehicle. Fortunately, there were no serious casualties. Many car owners think that it doesn't matter if the brakes are a bit insensitive and can just make do with them. This is extremely dangerous. Master Li said that the brake pads of electric bicycles will wear out after long-term use and need to be adjusted or replaced regularly; otherwise, it will lead to an increase in braking distance。
